Baal Aadhaar Card or Blue Aadhaar

The Aadhaar card is used by the Indian government to offer its residents a variety of services. Aadhaar cards are frequently used for identity and address verification. It is one of the cornerstones of Digital India and is essential to the country's shift to a more digital economy.

One significant example of how Aadhaar has contributed to the fight against corruption is the decrease in food grain diversion. The government is now also distributing Aadhaar cards to youngsters under the age of five. It's known as Baal Aadhaar.

What is a Baal Aadhaar Card?

A Baal Aadhaar card is a special variant of an Aadhaar card, issued by UIDAI for children below five years of age. This document serves as proof for young citizens of the country and helps them get benefits from the government scheme from an early age. This card is printed in a blue colour to distinguish it from the regular Aadhaar card.

Free Aadhaar Enrollment and Updates for Kids 5-17 as UIDAI Removes Biometric Charges

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that youngsters aged 5 to 17 can now update their Aadhaar biometrics for free for a year. Around 6 crore youngsters worldwide will benefit from the new Aadhaar upgrade, which will go into effect on 1st October and last through 30th September 2026.
