  •  MCD is divided into 12 zones, further subdivided into 250 wards.

  • On 13 January 2012, MCD was split into three corporations East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) – 64 wards; North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) – 104 wards; and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) consisting of 64 wards and 104 wards, respectively.

List of Municipal Corporations in Delhi

Here are the three types of municipal corporation in Delhi are as follows:

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC)

South Delhi Municipal Corporation is divided into five zones, which are Central, South, West, and Najafgarh. Step 3: Now, enter 'OTP' and click on 'Login'

Note: If you are a new user, click on the 'SignUp / Registration' option.

Step 4: Next,  complete property details will be shown on screen, like UPIC, Property Type, Owner Type, Name, Address, Status and Registration Details.

Step 5: Click on 'Actions' button and click on the ''Pay Tax" option.

Step 7: Next, the pop up is shown as 'Is there any Modification/Change in the Property/Owner Details from Last Tax Paid'.

Step 8: If you wish to change, then click on 'Yes, I want to Edit before I Pay' or click on 'No, I want to Pay'.

Step 9: Now, It redirected to the Tax Calculator page with complete Property details. also, shows the rebate percentage as well.

Step 10: Cross check all the details and click on 'Download PDF' and then select  'Pay Tax' button at the end.

Step 11: Now, Select your preferred payment mode- Credit card, debit card, or net banking and click on 'Pay now'

Step 14: Once payment is done, It shows the status as 'Success'

Exemption

Fully exempt properties include:

  • Buildings or land used for public worship, burial, cremation, heritage, or charitable purposes.
  • Agricultural land and related buildings.

Individual-based exemptions:

  • Property owned by a war widow or gallantry award winner, if self-occupied and not rented out.

Rebate

  • For one property 30% concession available to senior citizens, women, physically challenged individuals, and ex-servicemen.
  • If payment is made up to 30th June of the financial year, 20% rebate is offered to group housing flats.
  • A 10% rebate applicable to DDA/CGHS residential properties with covered area up to 100 sq. meters.

Condition for Availing Rebate

  • Rebate is applicable for a maximum of 200 sq. m. covered areas.
  • Exception for DDA or CGHS residential properties (different limits apply)
  • The property must be used for residential purposes to avail the concession.
  • Occupancy factors must be self-occupied.
  • For joint ownership rebate applies only to eligible owners’ share in the property.

Due date and Penalty

  • A 15% rebate is provided, if the entire property tax is paid in lump sum on or before 30th June (first quarter).
  • Penalty for delay: 1% interest per month is charged on late payment of property tax.
